Corhampton Monsoon Outing 2009
Winner – Stu Wootten – 36 points
2nd place – Ken Goodall – 35 points
3rd place – John Adams -34 points
Best Lady – Tracey Boyes – 33 points off scratch
LD – Tracey Boyes ( by 2 yards from Ian )
N.P – Barry Collins
We had a great turn out at Corhampton with 25 players braving the November elements! The weather held out and stayed dry until the 17th when the monsoon hit! Despite this an excellent day was had by all and Ian still insists that Tracey only beat him by two yards for the longest drive title!

We would like to wish Tracey Boyes all the best in december as she attends her Q. School in La Manga, Spain hoping to turn professional!

‘The sun shines on East Horton success’
If the sun shines on the rightious, then there must be many rightious members in the Crofton Golf Society.
A brilliant sunny October day was mirrored by some brilliant scores and ended with some competitors finishing in the dark.
The day kicked off with an eleven holes Texas scramble – a thoroughly enjoyable format. This was won by the team of John Adams, Mel Ward, Tom Cambell and Ray Laing. Close behind was the team of Jenny Readman, Ben Pape, Robin Keenan and Stu Woodew.
A short break for an excellent lunch in the very cosy and attractive barn that is the East Horton Clubhouse was followed by the serious business of the afternoon singles stableford. This was won by Tim Bishop with 43 points followed in second place by John Adams with 41 points. Jenny Readman was third with a very creditable 35 points, bearing in mind that there was little difference between the ladies tees and the men’s tees.
The last two matches unfortunately finished in the dark so we all need to ask ourselves whether or not we contributed to the slow play in the afternoon.
The nearest to the pin prize went to Peter Wheal and the longest drive prize was won by Robin Keenan.
Then back to the Crofton for a superb dinner as always. Thanks Jenny and Ian. A special mention goes to Ian for getting through the day with raging ear ache.
The next meeting will be at Corhampton in December – date to be finalised – watch this space
